In September of 2019 we will be bringing the Women’s Self Reliance Program to the rural village of Lebrun, Haiti.

As the women of El Remate have demonstrated their ever-increasing capacity to take charge of their lives and provide a healthy diet for themselves and their families, the Women’s Self-Reliance Program will be embarking on a new phase of support. Yearly visits to the village will be supplemented with monthly meetings with the leaders of the women’s groups via an electronic meeting system. The yearly visits will serve to provide guidance in specific areas of nutrition and gardening, as the need is indicated by the women leaders, and to support the women in their continuing work of community building.
In September of 2019 we will be bringing the Women’s Self Reliance Program to the rural village of Lebrun, Haiti, where we will be partnering with the non-profit, HavServe, and working with the mothers of 100 school children to develop a home and school gardening program and provide nutrition education, with the goal of food security for the participating families. We anticipate that the 100 participants will spread their knowledge to their neighbors, resulting in a food-secure village of Lebrun and the surrounding communities.
We are also exploring opportunities to bring WSRP to communities in the United States that would benefit from the program.
If we are going to see real development in the world then our best investment is women.~Desmond Tutu
